Geri Halliwell Looking For Spice Girls Reunion At London Olympics

Geri Halliwell has confessed that she is looking for the Spice Girls to reunite to perform at the London Olympics in 2012. Speculation that the girl group will reunite has been constant ever since the end of their first comeback tour in 2008, however Halliwell’s comments are sure to add fuel to the fire of press attention.

Speaking to The Mirror, Halliwell said: "The Spice Girls are part of me and always will be. If it happened and felt natural and right, then I'm always open to singing with the other girls. Singing at the games is a great idea and would be an amazing opportunity - and it's a sign the Brits are back. This is our time. Everything is circular and now there's a British pop revival."

She continued: "It needs to put itself back on the map on a world stage. This is our opportunity to show that British music, which has led and dominated the world, should do, always."

Rumours of another Spice Girl comeback have also been rife since the announcement that a musical based on their back catalogue was in the works, tentatively-titled ‘Viva Forever: The Musical’. Former manager Simon Fuller is also quoted as saying that the 2012 Olympics would be a perfect time for the five-piece to reunite.
