Capdown Announce Comeback Dates & Tickets

Following their recent addition to the Reading & Leeds line-up earlier this week, Milton Keynes punk rockers Capdown have revealed further live dates for the coming months. The band, who officially split in 2008, originally reformed last year for one-off performances at the Slam Dunk festival. However, they have now revealed headlining dates in July, August and November in addition to appearances at Rebellion and Hevy festivals. See below for all dates.

Capdown, who play a mixture of punk and ska with elements of dub and drum’n’bass, formed in Milton Keynes in 1997. Over the following 10 years, they built up a cult following for their first two albums, 2000’s ‘Civil Disobedients’ and 2001’s ‘Pound for the Sound’, and for their relentless touring schedule. The band also became regulars at the Reading and Leeds festivals, performing a number of popular sets at the August events.

However, with the declining popularity of ska-punk music after the release of ‘Pound for the Sound’, Capdown became largely inactive, apart from their continued live performances. The band did not release a third album until 2007’s ‘Wind Up Toys’ and they announced their intention to break up a short time after. The new dates will come as a pleasant surprise to anyone that considers Capdown to be one of the UK’s finest punk bands in recent years.
