James Staughton, St Austell Brewery’s managing Director and great-great grandson of Cornishman Walter Hicks who founded the Brewery in 1851, said: “We’re incredibly proud of our Cornish heritage and as Cornwall’s biggest brewery are delighted to be working with Port Isaac’s Fisherman’s Friends. We love their singing and they love our beer – it’s a perfect match!.”

The Port Isaac’s Fisherman’s Friends success story is a dream come true. Not only were the group one of the biggest selling new signings for Universal last year, winning a much-coveted Radio 2 Folk Award in February, but also they have secured an ITV1 hour-long documentary, a film-deal for their story with Ealing Studios and a book deal with publishers Simon & Schuster. Most recently, the guys can be seen and heard in their starring role as the new faces and sound of Young’s fish brand and launched their new Breaded range.

The Port Isaac’s Fisherman’s Friends have also been confirmed for the main stage at Glastonbury festival this year performing alongside acts including: U2, Coldplay, Beyoncé & Plan B!
