Take That’s Mark Owen has confessed that he recently suffered a panic attack when the scale of the band’s upcoming ‘Progress’ tour really dawned on him. Speaking to Music Week, the singer admitted that he has not always been calm and collected when considering that the group are about to embark on the largest tour in UK history.
Owen said: "A few weeks ago I had a pre-tour panic, a bit of a meltdown, which I went through for a couple of days. Not much sleep, but I came through the other end and I've been alright since. But we're confident with it now and I think the show's going to be brilliant."
Mark Owen also discussed the recent contributions of Robbie Williams, who will be touring with the group for the first time since his departure in 1995. The band confirmed recently that Williams will be performing his solo hits during a section of the show, backed vocally by the four other members of the group.
Speaking about Williams, Mark Owen said: "We're having to hold him back. Rob says, 'Come on guys, let's get on with it'. We've all got enthusiasm to do a great show and that's what we've always prided ourselves on. There are certain members of us who push the theatrics more than the others and it's trying to find that happy medium where everybody's comfortable."
He continued: "We're like kids really. We're all a bit excited about life and the tour and I'm really proud of what we've achieved. I hope everyone enjoys it."
Meanwhile, the tour’s production manager Chris Vaughan attempted to give a sense of the tour’s scale to the publication, asserting that Brixton Academy would "be just big enough to fit the catering crew now”.
Take That recently announced that they will be releasing ‘Progressed’, a repackaged version of their latest LP on July 13th.
