Kate Bush Working On New Album... But No Live Plans... Yet!

Veteran singer-songwriter-musician Kate Bush only released her ninth studio album, ‘Director’s Cut’, this month – but she has revealed that she already begun work on the follow up.
‘Director’s Cut’ charted well in the UK (and Norway!), reaching #2, and has had great success since its May 16th release. The album consists entirely of re-written, re-worked or re-recorded songs from Bush’s back catalogue.
Now, the talented 52-year old is writing brand new material for a new CD, which she will take her time creating.
Speaking to 6Music, she explains the writing process.
"I'm working on a new record. It's all kinds of bits and pieces, really. There's always ideas buzzing around, but it's whether they actually end up materialising into a song. It's quite an elusive process.”
Kate is notorious for her hard-working attitude and her eclectic musical style, but the singer is less known for her live performances – she only ever toured once, in 1979, for a month. With a road-record like that, it’s understandable that she probably won’t be hopping on the tour bus any time soon. But Kate went on to stress that she does, actually, enjoy live performances.
“People always presume I didn't enjoy that tour. I did enjoy it.
“But I haven't got any plans to do any live shows whatsoever. I'm very much engrossed in trying to making new material. I'm extremely flattered that people are interested.”
Though she has no intention of touring any time soon, she has ruled it out in the future – Stereoboard will keep you up to date on any Kate Bush news in the future.
