As the countdown to the release of his hotly anticipated new album 'Perfect Darkness' on June 13th continues, critically acclaimed folk rocker Fink announces an extensive UK and European Autumn tour in collaboration with visionary stage and lighting designers 59 Productions.
The Perfect Darkness tour will see Fink hit 49 stages in England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Belgium, Germany, The Netherlands, Denmark, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Czech Republic, and Poland in 2 months. The show will debut in Brighton’s St. Mary’s Church on September 23rd.
Fink has teamed up with award-winning international designers 59 Productions, who have designed the visuals for smash hit West End and Broadway productions such as 'War Horse', as well as beautiful and arresting stage shows for musicians such as Jónsi. Together they have created a bespoke lighting installation which, merged with custom-shot projections, creates a totally unique and highly dynamic stage environment for the music.
Leo Warner, Director of 59 Productions, says,“Working with Fink has been a hugely exciting experience for us - this is a different type of show to anything we have done before. The design is contemporary and totally distinctive, but also incredibly flexible and easy to tour. We are using the technology that we normally control projections with to control a huge grid of lighting fixtures, meaning we can create some very complex effects that look effortless, and don't compete with the band. Fink's music has a fantastic rhythmical, driving quality, but also some dark moments. We wanted to be sure that we could complement both with what we're doing visually.”
After making the transition from world-class club DJ and electronic producer to widely acclaimed singer-songwriter, Fink’s new album 'Perfect Darkness' further progresses an incredible musical journey for one of the UK’s most fascinating artists. With his band-mates Guy Whittaker on bass and Tim Thornton on drums, guitar, and percussion, the Perfect Darkness Tour is set to be one of the most breathtaking tours of the year.
