Miss May I have outlined plans for their eighth studio album.
The follow-up to 2022's 'Curse Of Extinction' is titled 'No Place For Me' and will arrive on October 2 via Solid State Records.
It'll feature the American metalcore band's previous singles Die On The Vine and Pray For Silence, alongside the newly shared Sanctuary, which delivers their signature crushing guitar riffs, white-knuckle drumming and intense vocal shifts between screamo vocals and clean, melodic hooks. Described as their most cathartic album to date, vocalist Levi Benton explained:
"No Place For Me is everything I’ve felt for a long time but never had the words for. Writing it taught me who I actually am even when that hurt to look at. It’s a full journey: Where it started, what I discovered, and where I am today."
On the new track, he shared: "Sanctuary is a song about wanting to feel safe and realizing you’re the one making that impossible. It’s a cycle I’ve struggled with my whole life and I think a lot of people know exactly what that feels like."
Miss May I currently have one live date scheduled for this year, an appearance at Inkcarceration Festival in Mansfield, in their home state of Ohio, on Sunday (July 19).
Since their last album, the band have also released a re-recorded 15th anniversary edition of their 2009 debut album, 'Apologies Are For The Weak', in 2024.
