Nell Mescal has returned with a new single, Settles.
Released via Atlantic Records, the pop ballad is an emotional reflection on a long-distance relationship, exploring missing someone, holding onto hope and wanting to stay connected. Mescal explained:
"Settles is a love song about a long-distance relationship where it feels like the time spent together is fleeting and that you always seem to be saying goodbye to each other at an airport. It’s about the hope that one day the dust will settle, life will get less busy and the two of you will get to be together without any interruptions. It’s about reassurance, yearning, hope and loving someone from a distance."
It follows the rising Irish singer-songwriter's spring single Kissing The Ground. She released her latest EP, 'The Closest We'll Get', last October, with more new music set to arrive over the coming months.
Mescal will play Ellie's bar in London on July 20, followed by an appearance at Kendal Calling in the Lake District, a date supporting Lorde at London's All Points East alongside PinkPantheress, Zara Larsson, Djo, Sienna Spiro and more, and a set at DIY Alive Festival at EartH, London.
