50 Cent has revealed that he is writing a novel to warn children about the dangers of school bullying. The American rapper is planning to release the book, which has been tentatively titled ‘Playground’, next year.
‘Playground’ is said to be a semi-autobiographical text which will tell the story of a 13-year-old bully who is eventually forced to come to terms with the wrongs he has done. According to Rolling Stone, the novel will be set in the first person and is scheduled for release in January next year.
Speaking about the novel, the ‘In Da Club’ rapper expressed his excitement about the project. He said: "I had a strong desire to write ‘Playground’ because I wanted to explore how a kid becomes a bully. I drew on events from my own childhood and adolescence, but was excited to see the story take on its own life.”
50 Cent continued: “This book would have been very helpful for me growing up and now that I have a teenage son, it is my goal that this will have a positive influence on all teenagers."
‘Playground’ will be 50 Cent’s third novel, leading on from his 2008 release ‘The 50th Law’. Meanwhile, the rapper premiered a new track from his upcoming album ‘Black Magic’ last week. You can listen to ‘Outlaw’ below:
