Cee-Lo Green Criticised For ‘Anti-Gay’ Remarks

Tuesday, 21 June 2011 Written by James Conlon

Cee-Lo Green has been criticised by fans after making a controversial remark on his Twitter account. The Gnarls Barkley singer made an ‘anti-gay’ comment during an exchange with music editor Andrea Svensson, reacting after Svensson gave a negative review of his concert performance.

Speaking to the journalist on the social networking site, Green said: "I respect your criticism but be fair! People enjoyed last night! I’m guessing you’re gay? And my masculinity offended you? Well, f*ck you!’"

After receiving a torrent of critical remarks from fans and other Twitter members, Green took to the site and offered an apology. He said: "I most certainly am not harbouring any sort of negative feeling toward the gay community. I always expect people to assume that everything I do is part of my character and sense of humour."

Meanwhile, Cee Lo Green has confirmed that he will be recording another Gnarls Barkley album in the near future. The ‘Crazy’ singer confirmed that he will be meeting with his Gnarls Barkley bandmate Danger Mouse soon to record the follow-up to 2008's The Odd Couple.

Speaking to Us Weekly, he said: "There is a new Gnarls Barkley album coming out! I would hope it would break more grounds. Knowing the nature of the space that we shared I am pretty sure it will be somewhat similar."
