Northern Lights Festival Cancelled

This year’s Northern Lights Festival has been cancelled following poor ticket sales, it has been revealed.

Set for 30-31st of July, the festival would have seen the likes of Madness, Example, Tinchy Stryder, and Paloma Faith all on stage at the Aberdeen event. But, after few tickets were sold, the organizers were forced to call of the festival.

The 25,000 capacity Seaton Park had been booked to host the two-dayer, but with cheap costs the organisers would have only had to have sold 10,000 tickets to afford the festival.

A statement on the festival’s website confirms the cancellation though, telling customers to refund their tickets.

"We are very sorry to announce that the Northern Lights Festival has been cancelled. To all those that supported the festival, thank you. All tickets will be refunded at point of sale. With very best wishes, the Northern Lights Team."

If you, like many others out there, are unhappy with the cancellation, there is an online petition which you can sign to get the festival back on the calendar. Click here to sign the petition.
