Electronic rock singer Zola Jesus will be making a rare one-off appearance in London this September, on the release date of her third album.
Born in America to Russian parents, Nika Danilova, a.k.a Zola Jesus is a young singer-songwriter who experiments with synthpop, industrial rock, operatic singing and goth influences to produce her music. At just 22 she has released two albums and two E.Ps, and is on the verge of releasing her third LP Conatus.
Conatus will see release in the UK on September 26th, and on the same date will be performing in London’s Toynbee Hall. Regarded as an act to look out for this year by Q Magazine, this headline UK performance may be one of your only chances to catch the unique singer’s style for a while, as the only other scheduled performances in the UK Danilova has are at three festivals – Big Chill, Bestival and End of the Road.
