Merthyr Rock Announce Friday Entertainment

Merthyr Rock, Wales' newest festival have announced the line-up for the Friday evening of their debut event at Cyfarthfa Park, Merthyr.

With the two main stage line-ups announced over the past two weeks the full bill for Merthyr Rock has now been confirmed as a variety of live performances, DJ sets and other entertainment has been confirmed to kick the weekend off with a bang.

The event, which will run from 2nd to 4th September will launch with a firework display, a performance by Bold Dog freestyle motorcross team, live performances from Reaper In Sicily and Evarose and a DJ performance from Wales' own Ian Watkins of Lostprophets.

Festival director Rhodri Jones said: "We want to start as we mean to go on, so we're giving you an opening night with rock superstars, great music, fireworks and death-defying stunts. What more could you want?"

Saturday's bill featuers household names Ocean Colour Scene, Cast and Goldie Lookin' Chain as well as newcomers such as Broken Vinyl Club and Town, who are already stirring up attention across South Wales and will open up the main stage.

Sunday see's a heavier edge to the bill with a headline set from The Blackout ably supported by Funeral For A Friend and ragga-metal band Skindred who are one of the most electrifying live acts around today.

Day tickets for Friday are priced at £10, while single days for Saturday or Sunday will cost you just £20 each. At £45 for a weekend ticket Merthyr Rock offers exceptional value.
