Prince Out to Prove a Point With Irish Concert

After cancelling a performance three years ago, legendary American musician Prince has vowed to make it up to Irish fans by putting on a barn-storming performance.

Prince was due to play in Croke Park last year but was decided to cancel last minute, giving no reason for the decision. He left thousands of fans out of pocket after they had booked planes, trains, hotels etc, although the tickets were refunded. He also cancelled gigs in Paris and Milan in the same month. But now he is set to return with a point to prove, and will play to over 30,000 this weekend at Malahide Castle in Dublin.

Promoter Robbie Butler revealed: “They said he wants to come to Dublin to prove a point, he just wants to come and do a great show. The only problem will be getting him off the stage.”

The show looks likely to be one of Prince’s best of the year, even though he has already been heavily praised for the quality of his shows in recent times. The star is in his prime right now and will play a hit-filled set list including Purple Rain and Raspberry Beret, and even has three LED TVs on stage to help with the performance. But as if that wasn’t enough, the star has a crazy selection of stuff in his personal dressing room – which includes a purple dressing gown with purple towels, bottles of champagne and a selection of Limoncello, Merlot and Fiji Water.
