Hip-hop megateam The Throne, consisting of icons Kanye West and Jay-Z, are in dispute over their proposed forthcoming tour which will coincide with their album release.
‘Watch the Throne’ is due out next Monday on August the 8th, with tickets for their accompanying tour set to go on sale this week. But with money problems arising around the tour, there have been doubts about whether the tour will go ahead.
An insider said: “Jay-Z can’t deal with Kanye. Jay is a stone-cold businessman. He wants to recoup all of his money from Live Nation. But Kanye wants to upstage rock stars with a blow-out show. He doesn’t care about costs.”
Jay-Z is hoping to use the cash they have to pay back an apparent advance deal that he has going with Live Nation, but showman Kanye would rather spend the dough on crowd-pleasing super shows – leading to a heated argument over where the cash will go.
The insider has said that Kanye is likely to give in to Jay-Z’s proposals, but the argument will have had its effects on the rappers who may be less than happy to work with each other right now – though they’ll have to put their differences aside for their show in Central Park later this week.
