The Melvins Schedule Three UK Dates - More to Follow?

The Godfathers of Grunge are returning to the UK – The Melvins have announced three dates across the country with more expected to be announced shortly.

The Washington-based grunge rockers are still going strong since their 1983 birth – they just released their eighteenth album last year – but the band haven’t played in the UK for way too long for their fan’s liking, and will revisit their cult following again this autumn.

The Melvins are set to perform their uniquely sludge-y stoner rock in Bristol, Cardiff, Leeds and hopefully more cities along the way as the four-piece take to the roads of the UK. Four-piece is a term you would use very loosely when talking about the Melvins though, as they have only two concrete members – the rest of the line-up seems to change willy-nilly. But if you’re thinking about catching The Melvins on tour later this year, you’ll see original member King Buzzo doing his usual thing on guitar and microphone, accompanied by not one but two drummers in Dale Crover (the other concrete member) and Coady Willis, as well as bassist Jared Warren.

Another thing promised for the shows is the accompaniment of ‘very special guests’ – who are yet to be revealed. If you want to find who is playing alongside The Melvins, or if you’re waiting for extra dates to be announced, stick with Stereoboard. Current dates and tickets are below.
