Van Halen To Tour Australia - UK & Europe To Follow?

Australian Van Halen fans needn’t be disappointed following the cancellation of the Soundwave Revolution Tour last week, as it seems as though the band will schedule a new arena tour for the beginning of 2012.
Aussie metalheads had been hoping to catch their favourites on the trip around Oz this September alongside big names like Alice Cooper, Hole and Bad Religion. But after Aerosmith allegedly pulled out of the bill, organisers were forced to cancel the gigs.
So fans hoping to see the ‘Jump’ singers live for the first time in around 2-3 years were seemingly dashed... until Nui Te Koha, the same radio presenter who announced the cancellation of the Soundwave Revolution Tour, claimed he had spoken to promoters who were organising a Van Halen arena headline tour for early on next year.
“This will be an arena tour,” Koha told listeners. “Van Halen has got an album coming out really soon. Two promoters have gone in and said, ‘This Soundwave Revolution thing was a debacle. We want to tour the band and it will happen early next year.”
The tour is to coincide with the release of a currently untitled new album, there first in over ten years – their last being 1998’s Van Halen III. So with an Australian tour in the works and a new album due out in the near future, where does that leave us British and European fans? Nothing has been said by the band or their management about a UK/European tour, but it seems very likely that they will plan and announce something very soon.
