MTV India to Broadcast Metallica's Debut Indian Performances

MTV India will be broadcasting the first ever Metallica concert in the country when they play there on October 28th and 30th.
The iconic metalhead group have never played in India during their 30-year career and revealed earlier this year in April that they’d make their debut performances in the country later this year. Now, MTV India, in association with F1 Rocks, will broadcast an hour long showing of their first appearance in the Indian country.
MTV India chief Aditya Swamy is excited at the prospect of such an illustrious band performing and talked of the prospects such a move means for the country.
“MTV reaches approximately 130 million people across 40 million homes and it’s a huge thing for MTV to broadcast the most awaited concert in India in association with F1 Rocks.
“The Metallica concert will boost the Indian economy as international acts tend to do well in the live-music circuit in an emerging economy like India.”
Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo originally broke the news of the gigs and also shared his excitement at playing in the eastern country.
“We are going to play India in October. That should be interesting, playing a place we never thought in our wildest dreams we'd play. It's an honour for all of us that we get to be a part of that whole music scene as a metal band sharing our music with fans in India at this incredible concert!”
