Kansas-born singer-songwriter Piney Gir has announced that she will release her new album ‘Geronimo!’ on 24th October. The album is the artist’s fifth to date following last year’s ‘Jesus Wept’. ‘Geronimo!’ is preceded by the single ‘Oh Lies’, which was released this week – watch the video below.
Piney Gir first began playing piano at the age of four and went on to write her first song at age nine. After earning herself a degree in music, she later moved to England to study at London’s Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design. In 2004, Piney released her debut album ‘Peakahokahoo’, which was more of an electronic effort compared with the country influences on its 2006 successor ‘Hold Yer Horses’.
Following the release of ‘Geronimo!’, Piney Gir will be performing at London’s Borderline venue on Saturday 5th November as support to Knox and the Trailer Trash Orchestra.
