It has been an eventful year for young Obaro Emijiwe. Recently migrated from the capital city of the West Midlands – Coventry – to his native London, Ghostpoet has certainly made his mark on 2011 with debut LP 'Peanut Butter Blues and Melancholy Jam'.
Its series of off-kilter, loopy electronic ditties blessed with his delightfully rambling musings on modern life have gained the soft-spoken Obaro an impressive slew of accolades culminating with his nomination for a Mercury Prize Award, a slot on ‘Later... with Jools Holland’ and a sold out show at London's Scala.
Set around the release date for his new single, which will serve as a bridge between his sophomore effort and a brand new album coming out later in 2012, this will be an excellent chance to catch a glimpse of this rising star at the majestic surroundings of KOKO.
Ghostpoet UK Live Dates are as follows:
February 2012
Feb 15th – KOKO, London
