Brooklyn-based rock quartet Deadbeat Darling are to release their UK debut ‘Promises’ on 21st November – watch the official video below. The track is the first to be taken from the band’s as-yet-untitled new album, which is due for release early next year.
Deadbeat Darling were formed in 2006 by Joseph King, the former frontman with Texan rockers Canvas, who disbanded during the previous year. The band’s music fuses a mixture of surf-rock and dub as well as a broad range of other genres. In 2007, they released an EP entitled ‘Belle Epoch’, which was followed by the album ‘Weight of Wandering’ in 2009. The new Deadbeat Darling album will be the band’s first official UK release.
Earlier this year, Deadbeat Darling signed to British label Spearhavoc Records and spent the following months working on their new album with Grammy Award-winning producer Ken Nelson in Monmouth, Wales. In addition to being well-known for producing the first three albums by Coldplay, Nelson is also recognised for working on albums such as Badly Drawn Boy’s ‘Hour of Bewilderbeast’ and Gomez’s ‘Bring It On’, both of which won the prestigious Mercury Music Prize.
