Dry The River, Emeli Sande, To Kill A King & Howler Confirmed For Q Now: The Session 2012

Dry The River, Emeli Sande, To Kill A King and Howler have all been confirmed to perform as part of the January 2012 Q Now Sessions.

Taking place at London's XOYO venue, the acts will each perform over four consecutive days from Monday 23rd January through to Thursday 26th January.

Kicking off the session will be Dry the River (pictured) who recently announced details of the release of a new EP. The 4-track 'Weights & Measures' EP will be released through RCA on November 14th 2011 with the lead track being taken from their debut album, due for release early 2012.

Following on Tuesday 24th January will be Emeli Sande. Having charted at Number Two with her debut single ‘Heaven’, sold out a UK headline tour and already been nominated for the ‘Best Newcomer 2011’ at this year’s MOBO Awards, it’s clear that Emeli Sande is an artist to watch for 2012.

To Kill A King are up next on Wednesday 25th January. Their music has the quiet, powerful reserve of The National but it’s a reserve mixed with a rhythmical, joyous touch that recalls Arcade Fire, or the raw drive of Mumford And Sons. At any one moment, they can sound like all of them or none of them. To Kill A King have recently released their 'Crooked Saint' EP. Check out the video for the lead song below.

Rounding off the session on Thursday 26th January will be the popular US indie-rockers Howler. Dubbed as this year's Vaccines, Howler have also been described as a Vaccines-Drums-Strokes hybrid band.
