Jesus Jones Postpone UK Comeback Shows Due to Injury

Alternative rockers Jesus Jones have had to postpone their long-awaited and highly-anticipated return to the music scene after bassist Al Doughty suffered a serious injury.

The band were due to rock out Birmingham and Islington on the 1st and 2nd of November respectively, but will now play their shows at a later date following the accident, which resulted in emergency surgery. The band didn’t tell the details of what happened to Doughty, but did say that they would definitely play the shows as soon as he’d recovered.

A statement on the band’s frontman Mike Edwards reads: “Although Al's recovering he's still in a lot of pain. There's no way he can travel and play right now. It's been a tough decision to postpone the dates because we realise that people have been looking forward to the shows - we have too. We hope it doesn't mess people's plans up too much and can't wait to play these shows as soon as Alan is OK again.”

While they’ve had to postpone their two November shows, Stereoboard believes a 2012 full tour could be on the way. Nothing’s been officially said yet, but stay with Stereoboard for future Jesus Jones news.
