Blur Regularly Meet To Play And Record, Says Damon Albarn

Musical mastermind Damon Albarn has told press that his original and most famous pop band Blur have been meeting up and recording stuff together regularly.

Albarn, who also fronts Gorillaz and new supergroup Rocketjuice and the Moon, told NME that his old bandmates have been reuniting and recording sessions, including a spoken piece with poet Michael Horovitz about the short-lived Notting Hill carnival cancellation – though it’s likely this track won’t be seeing daylight anytime soon.

“If they'd have cancelled the carnival – and thank God they didn't – maybe we'd have put it out,” Albran explained. “It had its moment; it was a perfect plea to reinstate the carnival. So it wasn't relevant – it was relevant for about 12 hours.”

While the singer hinted that Blur could play some shows around the country (or even abroad) in the near future, he also admits that balancing Blur with his new band Rocketjuice and the Moon, which features Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea and Tony Allen, Gorillaz and his third side project The Good The Bad and The Queen will be incredibly tough.

You’ll have to stay with Stereoboard to find out future information on a potential Blur tour or record – we’ll let you know first.
