Noel Gallagher A Candidate For James Bond Theme

Mancunian maestro Noel Gallagher could be the next musician to take on the role of penning the James Bond theme tune, if rumours are believed to be true.

‘Skyfall’, the latest instalment in the Bond series, is set for an October 26th 2012 release date, and doesn’t currently have a theme song written or performed for it. And Noel, who’s enjoying great success with his new band The High Flying Birds, is apparently one of the main candidates for the role.

The singer-songwriter will apparently fly out to LA to speak to Bond producer Michael G. Wilson sometime soon, where the pair will discuss the possibility of having Noel do the next Bond theme.

“They’re going to talk about potentially writing and performing the song for next year’s new Bond film,” a source close to the film claimed. “Nothing is signed or official, it’s just being discussed at the moment.”

Noel has previously mentioned that an unreleased track of his would be an ideal Bond theme tune, saying: “I listened back to Freaky Teeth [the unreleased track] thinking, 'That’d make a fucking great Bond theme. It’s a bit of a piss-take that the greatest British agent of all time has to be soundtracked by a bunch of Americans.”

Though nothing official has been said by either party, Stereoboard will be the first to let you know who will do the Bond theme when the news surfaces.
