Andy Burrows and Editors’ Tom Smith Announce Single ‘When the Thames Froze’

Editors’ frontman Tom Smith and We Are Scientists/ex-Razorlight drummer Andy Burrows have announced the release of ‘When the Thames Froze’, the latest single from their new collaborative Christmas album ‘Funny Looking Angels’. The single is due out on 12th December, the same day as their debut UK performance at London’s Islington Union Chapel – see below for tickets.
As previously announced, Smith and Burrows’ festively-themed debut album ‘Funny Looking Angels’ is due for release on 28th November and will feature an assortment of original tracks and cover versions. The duo recently released a new video showing them performing the album’s title track in the studio – watch below.
Among the tracks that Smith and Burrows have covered on ‘Funny Looking Angels’ are Yazoo’s ‘Only You’, Black’s ‘Wonderful Life’, The Longpigs’ ‘On and On’ and Delta’s ‘Funny Looking Angels’, from which the pair borrowed their album title. The album also features a number of guest contributors including Danish folk singer Agnes Obel.
Smith and Burrows have also revealed that the live date in December will feature contributions from a number of their friends, who will be helping them to make it an eventful pre-Christmas show.
