Man Commits Suicide After Being Left With Tinnitus Following Rock Gig

Turning it up to 11 has always been a staple part of any metalhead’s diet, but it appears the volume at one Them Crooked Vultures gig reached unbearable levels – after a fan stabbed himself to death following their show, having been left with Tinnitus.

Robert McIndoe, 52, went to see the supergroup, which consists of Led Zeppelin legend John Paul Jones, Foo Fighter’s frontman Dave Grohl and Queen of the Stone Age’s iconic guitarist and singer Josh Homme, in July last year, but was left with a constant ringing in his ears that meant he couldn’t sleep or live his life properly.

After treatment from hospitals and doctors was postponed and put-off on several occasions, McIndoe felt he could no longer live his life – and tried to overdose with sleeping pills. After this failed, he managed to take his own life by stabbing himself on Halloween (October 31st) last year. Tragically, a letter referring him to an ear specialist arrived the day after his death.

His wife told the Daily Mail: “When it first happened he wasn’t too bothered about it because he thought it would subside, and the friend he had been with also had ringing in his ears that day. But it was a constant irritation. He didn’t get a night of sleep after that.”

Prior to his suicide, his wife had said: “He was very distressed saying he couldn't go on. It was awful, he looked terrible, and he just felt so bad all the time. He was desperate that it was never going to change – he didn't know if he could live like this.”
