The official reasons that Silvio Berlusconi left his post as Prime Minister of Italy include not being able to handle his country’s flailing financial situation, and, of course, paying prostitutes for sex. But one thing the resignation has allowed the notorious figure to do is release his new album ‘True Love’. You read correctly...

Berlusconi has apparently always been a prominent singer and has also reportedly sung for a range of leading political characters from around the world, including George Bush and our own Tony Blair. He would put on shows at his Sardinia-based villa – where he also threw the scandalous parties which caused him mass amounts of controversy.

So, now that he doesn’t have to spend as much time trying to battle with the economy, it appears he has time to work in the studio with long time collaborator and guitarist Mariano Apicella – a former parking attendant. The album also features Angelo Valsiglio, who described the album as “really elegant and refined production with Brazilian hints.” It hit shelves on Monday.

Berlusconi fans may be waiting a while before they get to see the ex-Italian PM on UK tour, me thinks...
