Human Planet Live 2012 UK Tour Cancelled Due To 'Operational Issues'

Human Planet Live, Nitin Sawnhey’s orchestral collaboration with BBC Worldwide’s stunning natural history program ‘Human Planet’, has been forced to cancel their tour dates for March and April 2012.

The innovative new live experience was set to make its debut performances in spring next year but after coming across ‘operational issues’, the shows have been cancelled with refunds to those who bought tickets. Organisers issued a statement through their website which explains the cancellation – you can read it below.

“We regret that due to operational issues beyond our control, the performances of Human Planet Live, which were scheduled to take place in March and April 2012, have been cancelled. We look forward to announcing more news about the launch of Human Planet Live during 2012.

All bookings are being refunded in full via the booking agent which handled the purchase. Refunds will be processed automatically to the relevant credit/debit card and no further action is required from ticketholders.

Please accept our sincere apologies for any disappointment or inconvenience these cancellations may have caused.”

The orchestra tour was set to be a never-before seen experience that would captivate audiences, with BBC Managing Director Phillip Murphy saying: “Given Nitin’s tremendous score for Human Planet and his ability as a musical performer in his own right it is a natural extension of the series to create a live event. We’re very excited to be working with him, Live Nation and X-Ray Touring to bring the series to life this way.” But, it was not meant to be and fans will have to at least have to wait a long while to see one of these performances –if one ever goes ahead.
