Reverend and The Makers have shared a new single.
An honest reflection on the dangers of excess, Fucked Up finds frontman Jon McClure (pictured) duetting with Robbie Williams, as the pair look back on their wilder years.
The Sheffield band's most high-profile collaboration to date, the acoustic indie ballad came about after the Grammy-nominated and multi-BRIT-winning superstar took to social media to praise You Again, a song McClure co-wrote with Manchester band Lottery Winners. The five-piece also recently joined Williams as special guests on his Long 90s UK Tour. McClure said:
"We’d both been through a lot of mad stuff, and then you grow as a person, don’t you? Rob’s the soundest fella in the music game. A real pleasure to collab with him."
The track arrives with a Charlie Lightening-directed video, shot in the desert in Marrakech, and marks the final preview of the band's eighth studio album, 'Is This How Happiness Feels?', due out on May 8 via Distiller Records. It'll also include the previously unveiled cuts, Late Night Phone Call, Haircut featuring Vicky McClure, UFO and Twenty-Seven Past Midnight.
Reverend and The Makers will support the LP with a previously scheduled UK tour in November. Prior to that, they'll play a handful of album launch shows next month, followed by several live dates this spring and summer, including a date supporting Lottery Winners at Leigh Sports Village Stadium on May 30 and festival slots at Bearded Theory, Y Not? Festival and Discovery Festival Dundee. Tickets are on sale now.
