Multi-Grammy Winner Bruce Hornsby Announces UK Tour Dates & Tickets

US solo artist Bruce Hornsby, known best for his 1986 hit ‘The Way It Is’, has announced two UK tour dates for January 2012. The singer-songwriter will perform at London’s Shepherds Bush O2 Empire on Saturday 28th January, followed by a date at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Monday 30th January as part of the city’s Celtic Connections festival.

In 2009, Bruce Hornsby released his tenth album ‘Levitate’, the third with his band The Noise Makers. He first found worldwide success in 1986 upon the release of his second single ‘The Way It Is’ by Bruce Hornsby and The Range. The song reached Number 15 in the UK Singles Chart and topped the Billboard Hot 100 in the US. ‘The Way It Is’ was sampled heavily on Tupac Shakur’s posthumously-released hit single ‘Changes’ from 1998.

Bruce Hornsby was awarded his first Grammy Award in 1987 for Best New Artist and later received others in 1990 and 1993 for Best Bluegrass Recording and Best Pop Instrumental. In 1988, Hornsby joined the Grateful Dead as the band’s keyboard player and remained with them until 1992. He has also performed on albums by artists such as Bob Dylan, Don Henley, Crosby, Stills and Nash and Stevie Nicks.

Speaking about his upcoming London date, Hornsby said: “While I've always heeded the good Reverend Jesse Jackson's advice, this time I can't follow his edict to ‘stay out the bushes’. Therefore, I'm invading O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire in January.”

Bruce Hornsby UK & Ireland Tour Dates are as follows:

Sat January 28th 2012 - Shepherds Bush Empire, London
