The original members of iconic girl group Sugababes have reportedly been in the studio recording new material, according to PopJustice.
The site claims that the three girls, Keisha Buchanan, Mutya Buena and Siobhan Donaghy, had met up last year and decided that it was time to start making some new music together. And, after a story we published way back in August revealing that Buena had won some of the rights to the Sugababes name (though they won’t actually be able to be called the Sugababes), it seems like a reunion has been in the works for a while.
News website Digitial Spy spoke to one of Keisha Buchanan’s spokesperson this morning, who told them: “Keisha has been working on a number of exciting projects both old and new. She is in the final stages of completing her much awaited solo album and believes her fans will be equally excited with what's to come.”
The reports also suggest that they’ve been in talks with three labels they could sign with, and that they are being managed by Felix Howard, who wrote Sugababes hits ‘Overload’ and ‘Stronger’. They’ve also been rumoured to be working with artists like Emeli Sandé, Asterix, Naughty Boy and more – but none of these have been confirmed.
The news is massive for Sugababes fans, however, it is still only early days. Stay with Stereoboard for future news regarding the original Sugababes line-up reunion.
