Prodigy Will Keep Signature Sound For New Album

Electronic dance producing legends The Prodigy have told fans that they won’t be changing their unique and distinct sound to suit anyone when they put out their sixth studio album later this year.
The music scene of today has seen a massive rise in the popularity of electronic music, especially with genres like Dubstep becoming hugely commercial and many of today’s popstars opting for electronically-produced backing tracks rather than live instruments. But The Prodigy have reassured fans that the next album will still feature the sound that fans fell in love with throughout the 90’s.
“All the dubstep stuff that’s around, we’re loving it, but that’s not our game,” founding member Liam Howlett told Radio 1’s Zane Low. “We won’t go near it. We’ve always had respect for the masters who do their game, those boys who do that sound [dubstep], that’s what they do. We know what we do, and when any Prodigy record hits it’ll still feel fresh.”
Though a new album will be dropping at some point this year, the band’s only currently scheduled UK show is their slot at Download Festival in the summer. If you’re a fan, you need to be there – in the words of Howlett himself: “We’re only doing one UK show which is Download, which we’ve just announced. That’s basically a time when we’re going to be playing some new songs.”
