The Pains of Being Pure at Heart Announce One-Off London Date

New York City quartet The Pains of Being Pure at Heart have announced details of a one-off live date in London on Thursday 8th March. The band are currently on tour in Europe and will return to the UK for a performance at London’s O2 Academy Islington after a tour of Australia and Japan. See below for tickets.

The Pains of Being Pure at Heart’s second album ‘Belong’ was released last year to widespread acclaim. It followed the band’s eponymous 2009 debut. The Pains of Being Pure at Heart recorded ‘Belong’ with producer Flood and mixer Alan Moulder, who have previously worked together on Smashing Pumpkins’ ‘Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness’ and The Killers’ second album ‘Sam’s Town’.

Comparing ‘Belong’ to the first Pains of Being Pure at Heart album, singer/guitarist Kip Berman described it as “more immediate, more noisy, more beautiful.”

Going on to talk about the album in detail, he added: “We never stopped believing in noise and pop, but now we've pushed both further. Compared to the last record, It's far more visceral, more vital, more of the body. It's about feeling, not feelings.”
