Deadbeat Darling Confirm UK Tour Dates for Next Month

New York City indie-rockers Deadbeat Darling have announced details of a UK tour for next month, including a date at the Barfly in London as part of the city’s HMV Next Big Thing festival. The band’s UK debut ‘The Angels Share’ is due for release in April.

Deadbeat Darling spent much of 2011 working on their new album with Grammy Award-winning producer Ken Nelson in Monmouth, Wales. In addition to his work on the first three Coldplay albums, Nelson is also recognised for producing the likes of Badly Drawn Boy’s ‘Hour of Bewilderbeast’ and Gomez’s ‘Bring It On’, both of which won the prestigious Mercury Music Prize.

In a recent interview for Stereoboard, Deadbeat Darling frontman Joseph King spoke about working with the renowned producer: “Ken is amazing. He is such a purist in the studio. It was all about playing the songs the way they were written, on the instruments they were written on. Every guitar track was played on our own guitars through our own amps, and for Ken it was all about the performance and the essence of the songs.”

Going on to explain the album’s title, he added: “It’s a historical reference we stole from you guys actually, and it has to do with whisky. Look it up.”

Deadbeat Darling UK Tour Dates are as follows:

Thursday 9th February 2012 – Moles, Bath
Friday 10th February 2012 – Barfly, London (HMV Next Big Thing)
