'Leaked' Sonisphere Line-Up "Completely False", Says Organisers

A line-up for Sonisphere that was reportedly ‘leaked’ by a specially-made Twitter account, which featured acts like Green Day and Slash, has been dismissed by organisers as fake.

The account, named ‘Sonisphereleak’, claimed that it had got the line-up from a ‘pulled press release’, which was sent out in an e-mail directly from ticket website Kililive. It posted two tweets, part one and part two, which featured a handful of bands that were apparently scheduled to play at the famous metal festival – including rock legends Queen with new singer Adam Lambert.

The first line-up tweet read: “PART_1: Queen with Adam Lambert, Robert Plant Band of Joy, Opeth, Seether...” while the second: “PART_2: Green Day, Slash, Billy Idol, The Offspring, My Passion, As I Lay Dying, Killing Joke.”

They then posted a message saying: “So their you go... It will be interesting to see why the first PR was pulled... It's safe to say we WONT be made privy to the next one! Over and out #sonisphere.”

But, since then, festival organisers rubbished the claims – describing them as ‘completely false’.

Meanwhile, Stereoboard have looked at who could could realistically be playing at the festival with our own feature article. You can check that out here.
