Dean Castronovo, drummer for veteran rockers Journey, was arrested earlier this week on suspicion of assaulting his girlfriend over the weekend.
Castronovo, who has now been released after paying out over $50,000 in bail, is facing multiple charges – including assault, criminal mischief, harassment, coercion and interfering with making a report. The sticksman now has to wait a couple of weeks before finding out whether he’ll be charged.
It’s unknown what happened during the incident, but a spokesperson for Castronovo told US site TMZ “It was a misunderstanding that should not have been escalated to such a level in the first place.”
Castronovo joined Journey in 1998, three years after the band reformed after their eight year break. The band switched lead singer and drummer, and he replaced former sticksman Steve Smith. Since then, he’s featured four studio albums, including their latest instalment ‘Eclipse’, which hit shelves in 2011. Its unknown what will happen to Castronovo if he’s found guilty.
