MTV Brand New for 2012 has announced that public voting will shut at midday on Tuesday 31st January with the overall winner of this year’s sound poll announced on Wednesday 1st February. This leaves five days left of voting at www.brandnew.mtv.co.uk.
Since voting opened on 9th January, the MTV Brand New for 2012 voting page has received well over 100,000 unique votes and counting.
This week MTV Brand New for 2012 hosted two exclusive live shows at London’s KOKO. Highlights of the The Maccabees and Charli XCX show will première on MTV Music on 4th February at 11.30pm, and MTV Rocks on 7th February at 9pm. Highlights from the Emeli Sandé, Michael Kiwanuka and Delilah show on will première on MTV Music on 4th February at 11pm and MTV Hits on 18th February at 7pm.
With one of the most successful track-records for a new music poll, over the last 4 years MTV Brand New has identified international stars such as Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber & Ke$ha before their debut releases whilst also picking up top British music talent Tinie Tempah, Adele, Florence + The Machine, Ellie Goulding, Jessie J, Friendly Fires, White Lies, Wretch 32 & Labrinth at the very start of their recording careers.
