Big Download Festival Announcement Expected Tomorrow

Make sure all you metalheads keep an eye out on the Stereoboard site tomorrow, as a big Download line-up announcement is expected from the organisers at roughly 9am (GMT).

The legendary rock festival, which runs from Friday 8th to Sunday 10th June, is currently in the middle of its usual run of line-up announcements, and with all the headliners and a number of support acts revealed, it’s time to find out exactly who else will be performing at the three-day event.

The festival has a shiny, brand new website, and posted a number of days ago saying: “We’re bang in the middle of announcement season here at Download HQ, and having unveiled a bunch of bands for the 2012 line up back in January, we’re gearing up for our next announcement on Wednesday February 1st.”

It continued, “This one is promising to be just as meaty as the last, with a huge range of incredible bands ready to be splattered all over the inimitable Download poster.”

Download chief Andy Copping also confirmed through Twitter that there would be “14 bands being announced” on February 1st (tomorrow) and “it will include the 2 remaining 2nd stage headliners + the band in slot 3 under Soundgarden.”

The line-up already includes The Prodigy, Metallica (who’ll be playing the entirety of their seminal Black Album), and rock legends Black Sabbath as it’s three main headliners, as well as bands like Soundgarden, Chase and Status, Machine Head, Biffy Clyro, Lamb of God, Trivium, Anthrax, Tenacious D, Youmeatsix, and more.

The festival is shaping up nicely – and it’d be a mistake for any metalhead to miss it. If you need tickets, check the link below to compare prices and find yourself the cheapest pair of Download tickets.
