Nile Rodgers Working With Daft Punk On New Record?

American musician and producer Nile Rodgers is set to work with Daft Punk on their new album, with the trio currently in talks over the project.

ImageRodgers, who famously played guitar for New York-based funk band Chic, has previously worked with Duran Duran, Diana Ross and David Bowie, and now could be set to work with house production duo Daft Punk on what will be their fourth studio album.

“Those guys are great,” Rodgers told CultureMap. “They're coming to my apartment on Monday and we're going to talk about making a new record together.”

He then posted on his blog a couple of days later, saying: “Daft Punk is hanging at my house! I dig Daft Punk. When I first heard "Da Funk" I thought it was one of the grooviest records I'd heard in a long time. The song ‘One More Time’ came out when I was on a trip to Paris and I visited Virgin records.

“I almost hooked up with the guys then but I don't remember what went wrong. ‘Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger’ I simply thought was one of the coolest records of the year when I heard it. After all these years of almost hooking up, finally Daft Punk is hanging at my house.”
