ATP: I’ll Be Your Mirror Completes Friday Line-Up & Announces More Bands For Saturday & Sunday

Friday, 17 February 2012 Written by Ben Bland

Intent on becoming more and more eclectic as the years go by, this May’s London “I’ll be Your Mirror” event is intent on backing up its brilliant headliners with as many great bands further down the bill as possible. If Slayer, Mogwai and The Afghan Whigs alone are not enough to grab your interest then read on for news of more fantastic bands on the bill.

Joining Slayer, who will be playing “Reign in Blood” in its entirety, ATP have confirmed a line-up of reformed stoner titans Sleep, legendary alt-metallers Melvins, atmospheric black metal troupe Wolves in the Throne Room, sludge heavyweights Yob and rising hip-hop stars Death Grips. Friday tickets are priced at only £39 due to the shortened, but nonetheless extremely impressive (and insanely heavy) line-up.

Joining Mogwai on their self-curated Saturday are new announcements Harvey Milk, Bill Wells & Aidan Moffat, The Soft Moon and Anton Maiovvi. These newly announced acts join an already stupefying line-up including Dirty Three, Codeine, Mudhoney and Balam Acab. Meanwhile on the Sunday with headliners The Afghan Whigs having replaced drop-outs Guided by Voices, the ever diverse stream of bands on the bill now includes reformed experimental rockers The Make-Up in a UK exclusive, Ultramagnetic MCs, Forest Swords, Tennis, Tall Firs and Sleepy Sun. They join the likes of Yuck and Archers of Loaf in a day that, like Saturday, has day tickets available for £59.

Last time we looked there was still a smattering of weekend tickets available for this event at London’s Alexandra Palace from the 25th to 27th May. Missing out on this weekend is not advisable for lovers of a wide variety of music, and last year’s festival was brilliant fun so it seems likely that this year will be the same.
