Bloc Party Announce Summer Festival Performances After Three Year Gig Hiatus

Indie rock four-piece Bloc Party have announced their first live dates for almost three years, with the band’s fourth album due out at some point in the year.
The London-based rockers will perform at both the Peace & Love Festival in Sweden on June 29th and Melt Festival in Germany, which takes place from July 13th to the 15th. The band could be announcing more shows in the near future, so keep your eyes peeled on Stereoboard.com
Speaking to fans, guitarist Russell Lissack said: “Hard to believe it's been nearly three years since our last show. We're really excited to announce our first festival appearances for this summer, at which we'll be debuting material from our forthcoming new album.”
The news of the dates will come as some reassurance to fans of the band, who have gone so long without a live appearance from the band. Kele Okereke also helped setup a hoax story about the band searching for a new vocalist, which was allegedly a plan to try and ‘get one over’ on the press and garner some publicity as they worked on their fourth studio album, the follow-up to 2008’s ‘Intimacy’.
