Tricky Announces Three UK Shows

Bristol-based trip-hop star Tricky has announced three UK shows for this April – where he will perform his debut solo album ‘Maxinquaye’ in its entirety alongside Martina Topley-Bird.

The Mercury Award winning artist will perform at Bristol’s O2 Academy and the Manchester Academy, as well as performing a set at London’s Sundance Festival on April 27th. Full dates and details can be seen below.

‘Maxinequaye’ was the producer and musician’s first solo studio album, and hit shelves way back in 1995. The record was said to be written about the star’s mother, Maxine Quaye, who commited suicide when Tricky (a.k.a Adrian Thaws) was just four years-old, and managed to hit #3 in the UK charts. Tricky was once quoted as saying that though he hardly knew her, he feels like ‘she's speaking through him with his words.

Thursday 26th April - O2 Academy, Bristol
Friday 27th April - Sundance Festival, London
Saturday 28th April – Manchester Academy, Manchester
