Laura Wright's Diamond Jubilee Song Out Now

Laura Wright, dubbed as ‘Britain’s most exciting new soprano’, will be flying the flag for the Commonwealth this year – as her new Diamond Jubilee song ‘Strong as One’ was mentioned by the Queen during her Commonwealth Day Message.

The Queen’s annual Message to the Commonwealth, which hits around two billion citizens worldwide, is both an honour and a privilege for the 21- year-old music student who used to wait tables to support her studies.

Immediately following its premiere in Westminster Abbey, the song was made available to buy as a download, with Decca Records donating a minimum of 50p from every digital single being donated to The Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust.

Composer of 'Stronger As One', Robert Hartshorne, said: “I’m delighted that Her Majesty has mentioned 'Stronger As One' in her Message. With proceeds from the song being donated to The Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust, I hope that the Commonwealth and the world like it!” You can hear watch the official music video for the track below.

2012 looks set to become another incredible year for the singing student. Laura, who has just completed a UK tour with acclaimed tenor Alfie Boe, will be the first soprano to perform at the Olympic Stadium on 31st March.

You can buy the track here.
