Indie rockers Arctic Monkeys have unveiled a brand new song – which they’re planning to release in support of Record Store Day later this year.
‘Electricity’ will feature as a B-side on the special re-release of ‘R U Mine’, the band’s second non-album release which managed to hit #23 in the UK charts earlier in the year. The record will be pressed on limited edition purple vinyl in support of Record Store Day, which takes place on April 21st. You can check out the video to ‘R U Mine’ embedded below.
Meanwhile, the Arctic Monkeys are half-way through a tour of the United States and Canada - they’ll be performing in Montreal tonight. While they only just released their fourth studio album ‘Suck it and See’ in summer last year, it was revealed that the band would be hitting the studio once again in the summer to start recording.
“I don't try to write on the road,” frontman Alex turner revealed. “I might try to this time, just for a change. Usually, I get home and I realize it's bad, so I've not done it in the past. We've messed around in sound checks, but I'm not gonna meet a deadline, and it's not like I need to write, though I want a head start for the next time around.
