Penlope Isles have announced a new album.
The follow-up to 2021's 'Which Way To Happy' is called '3' and will arrive through Bella Union on September 25, having been written during a month-long surfing trip to Lagos, Portugal. It was recorded live, directly to tape at Black Bay Studio on the Isle of Lewis with engineers Pete and Cal, and sees siblings Jack and Lily Wolter reunite after spending time travelling and working on their respective solo projects, Cubzoa and My Precious Bunny.
"Jack and I are blood,” Lily said. "Playing these songs after so much time apart feels like coming home."
The album also marks the Brighton-based band's first as a three-piece, with friend Joe Taylor joining on drums having previously worked with Anna B Savage and Iona Zajac.
Alongside the announcement, the trio have shared the record's first single, Thinking Seat, a dreamy indie track about overthinking, from worry and heartache to planning, forgetting, and trying to stay focused, written following hours on the road in the Wolter siblings' splitter van. Head below to view the self-directed video, shot on a camcorder from CEX.
Penelope Isles will follow the album's release with a UK and European tour in October and November, including an appearance at Boia Festival in St. Davids, Pembrokeshire. Tickets are on sale now.
