Bonobo Announces New Album 'Distance In Static' Featuring Nilüfer Yanya, Joy Crookes And More

Bonobo has announced a new album.
The musician, producer and DJ, real name Simon Green, will release 'Distance In Static' on September 11 via Ninja Tune. It was recorded during sessions in Los Angeles, Tokyo, London and other locations, with much of it completed at Neil Young's legendary Broken Arrow Ranch in California, where Green spent several weeks earlier this year.
Featuring 14 tracks, it includes a number of collaborators: Arooj Aftab, Nilüfer Yanya, Nicole Miglis, Joy Crookes, Aanya Martin and Ichiko Aoba. "I want to reinforce this idea that you can be more than one thing," Green said of the album.
Alongside the record's announcement, Bonobo has shared its first single, Me and You, a club-ready track that he's been playing in his DJ sets for some time.
Bonobo will take his new full band live show, billed as Distance In Static Live, across North America this autumn. Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time on Friday (June 12).
He released his latest LP, 'Fragments', in 2022. Last year, he also contributed music to the Adult Swim animated series Lazarus, alongside Kamasi Washington and Floating Points, and collaborated with Chris Lake and Alexis Roberts on the single Falling.
