Simon Cowell To Pull The X Factor Off Air After 2012 Series?

Talent show and music mogul Simon Cowell may be ready to pull X-Factor off the air, after the last series saw a dip in ratings and viewers.
The multi-millionaire is ready to pull the plug on the show after the next season airs, because he’d rather keep the show’s legacy intact than let it slowly deteroriate – and because he also has another show in the pipeline ‘which could replace the X-Factor’.
Cowell told The Daily Star: “In a year’s time we might say, 'Right, that's the end of The X Factor. Let's start something new. I'd rather fall off the cliff on numbers than deteriorate slowly. We have something in development which could replace The X Factor. Most things in music, fashion or TV tend to be across a ten-year period. The great test of success is if you can transcend a decade. I believe we can do it again if we're prepared to be brave.”
That doesn’t mean the current series of the show will be neglected, though, with an ITV spokesperson adding: “It is the UK's most popular entertainment show and we're looking forward to another great series.” The show will be judged by the same panel as the last series - Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland, Louis Walsh and Tulisa Contostavlos.
The X-Factor 2012 live tour is currently taking place and sees the finalists of the past series performing live in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne tonight.The X Factor Live UK Tour Dates are as follows:
