PETA Claim Noel Gallagher Needs 'Empathy Counselling'

Animal rights activists and demonstrators PETA have told Mancunian rocker Noel Gallagher that he needs ‘empathy counselling’ – because of his recent recent comments about taking his sons on holiday to Ireland so they can ‘throw stuff at cows’.

The ex-Oasis star told the Sun that he’d be heading out to County Mayo, Ireland, so that he and his sons could throw stuff at cows – adding that there weren’t ‘any cows in Manchester’. While what Gallagher said was taken by most as a rather irrelevant and frankly quite random piece of nonsense, PETA, who are famous for their controversial and often offensive publicity stunts (which includes comparing animals to holocaust victims and humans to Nazis), kicked off – and told Gallagher that he needs counselling.

“A father whose idea of a family vacation includes traumatizing animals who are minding their own business should undergo empathy counselling,” PETA told Jam! Showbiz. “It doesn't take a 'godlike genius' to realize that parents have an obligation to teach their children respect for all living beings and that they are creating monsters if they don't teach understanding. If Noel Gallagher wants his sons to grow into decent adults, he would do well to remember that.”

You can catch Noel Gallagher and his band The High Flying Birds at a handful of gigs this year.
