Kerrang! Awards 2012 Introduce New Award Categories - Voting Opens Today!

Kerrang! has today announced that this year’s Kerrang! Awards fuelled by Relentless Energy Drink will introduce a brand new list of award categories, giving the event an extra special spark and extending the appeal into the wider world of entertainment.

These new categories are: Best TV Show, Best Video Game, Best Film, Best Comedian, Tweeter of the Year, Hottest Female, Hottest Male, Villain Of the Year, Hero Of The Year and Best Festival.

Voting on the new categories plus Best British Newcomer, Best International Newcomer, Best Single, Best Video, Best Album, Best Live Band, Best British Band (sponsored by Fender) and Best International Band, opens today, Wednesday 4th April, in Kerrang! Magazine and over at www.kerrang.com.

The Kerrang! Awards 2012 fuelled by Relentless Energy Drink will take place on Thursday 7th June, and will be the first under the helm of new Kerrang! Editor James McMahon.

Other honorary awards to be presented on the night include The Devotion Award sponsored by Relentless Energy Drink, which are awarded by the K! judging panel.

Renowned as one of the most exciting and rock ’n’ roll events in the UK music industry calendar, the Kerrang! Awards fuelled by Relentless Energy Drink attracts the biggest and best names in rock and metal.

“It's no exaggeration or bias to say that the Kerrang! Awards are the best awards music has to offer” says Kerrang! Editor James McMahon. “This year we want to show even more people just how unique and fun they really are. We're adding a whole load of new awards - as Kerrang!'s world gets broader, our fans have opinions on more than just rock - but there's much more to come. This year’s awards will be a celebration of Kerrang! and rock music’s dominance in 2012”
